Hey Ryan, my DH and I were strongly considering sending him on a fasting retreat with Dr. Graham of www.foodnsport.com - it is supposed to be a life changing experience. But in the end we just didn't feel like we could let him be gone from our family for a month! :)

We're considering going to a family health and fitness retreat this fall if they decide to go ahead with it, though.

The cleansing retreat sounds peaceful and relaxing!

I remember when that movie came out, but I never did see it. The movie is rated R and, at the time, I was in 9th grade! Maybe I should put it in my Netflix queue... :-)

I think the retreat sounds both relaxing and invigorating! Ryan, did you ever see that movie titled, The Road To Wellsville? It is loosely based on the teachings of Dr. Kellogg; I say "loosely" because they are actually poking fun at --rather than touting-- his cause: maximum health through a wholesome vegan diet (maybe even raw), colonics, ample rest, and exercise. Funniest scenes depict the strange "exercise" equipment that was sold at that time. A lot of bizarre massagers and machines that vigorously shake the body. Ironic how after I saw this movie, rather than scoffing at "wacky" Dr. Kellogg, I wanted to learn more about him and find out if his resort is still in operation!

Mark - It would be helpful if you explained your thinking rather than just saying a cleansing retreat is a "waste of time--come to my site and you'll see."

I did two searches on your forum. One for "cleansing retreat" and the other for "retreat." Neither search produced a thread that is relevant to my post.

I don't want to discourage comments at all. I appreciate them, and want to encourage thoughtful discussion here.

Thanks!
